precious gift of a present moment

in times when impermanence
stick it to your mind
remember that
which is permanent
and eternal
which can never
be taken away from you

this choice — between
getting distracted by memories
and desires or
aware of the here and now —
is the everpresented
choice between
fearing
or loving
the gift of this
present moment
which when opened
— by choosing to be present —
also opens your heart

it doesn´t matter what they did
not even how it went so wrong
what matters is
to realise how
constantly now
this joy is always within
the reach of courage

while fear
forced me to cling
this courage of
becoming present
releases my self
letting it all fall
into the inherent
selflessness
of existence

this is the gift
the present
life gives
